MOSCOW, November 16 – RIA Novosti. Western leaders are doing their best to highlight the “big gap” with Russia, said Senator Alexei Pushkov. Thus, the parliamentarian reacted to the information that appeared in a number of media about the refusal of the leaders of Western states to take pictures together with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov.
“Boycotts are sterile and unproductive,” Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel. Such behavior, the senator is sure, will not help solve the most acute problems in energy, geopolitics and security.
Earlier it became known that only the leaders or representatives of the countries of the informal association MIKTA participated in the photographing ceremony after the G20 lunch, there is no clarity on the general photo of the G20 leaders. The Kyodo Agency, in turn, reported that the traditional group photo before the start of the G20 summit in Bali was “postponed.”
The press center of the RIA Novosti summit explained that “this is definitely not a group photo, it was a photo after lunch, and it featured the leaders of the MIKTA countries.” At the same time, the interlocutors of RIA Novosti found it difficult to answer when the group photographing of the leaders would take place and whether it would take place at all.

Pushkov issued a warning to Europe

Sergei Lavrov, head of the Russian delegation, took part in the plenary session (food and energy security) of the G20 summit in Indonesia on Tuesday, after which he left the country. The G20 summit is taking place in Bali on November 15-16.
After the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine, Western countries stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow, but this provoked an increase in fuel prices and record inflation in the US and Europe themselves. As President Vladimir Putin has pointed out, the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, but the sanctions have dealt a severe blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the United States and its allies is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
