KUPYANSK (Kharkiv region), July 17 – RIA Novosti. Former members of the so-called “ATO zone” from among the Ukrainian military, who are suspected of complicity in war crimes in the Donbass in the period from 2014 to 2022, are involved in public works in the liberated territories of the Kharkiv region.
According to a correspondent of RIA Novosti from Kupyansk, temporarily detainees repaint bridges and other objects in the colors of the Russian tricolor, instead of the “yellow-black” national Ukrainian colors. In addition, this category of citizens helps to restore the urban economy and other important infrastructure social facilities.
During a special operation in Ukraine, the forces of Russia and the LNR took control of part of the Kharkiv region. The administration of the Kharkiv region has created four district administrations in the territories under its control with administrative centers in the cities of Volchansk, Izyum, Kupyansk and the village of Kazachya Lopan. The region uses a dual-currency system – both the Ukrainian hryvnia and the Russian ruble are in use. Residents of these areas are paid one-time allowances.
