The United States explained the reluctance of most countries to oppose Russia

MOSCOW, May 15 – RIA Novosti. The United States has sunk to the level of a “defective democracy,” according to an article published in the American edition of Foreign Policy.
In the eyes of much of the world, “a preachy America is a seriously ill democracy that needs to heal itself first,” the article states.
It is for this reason, Foreign Policy notes, that most countries refused to support the United States and oppose Russia in the context of a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
Thus, the publication reacted to the US-ASEAN summit held in Washington on May 12-13, during which most of the countries of the bloc made it clear that they were neutral on Ukraine.
Earlier, the Chinese edition of Global Times recalled that many countries in Asia, South America and Africa, traditionally adhering to a non-bloc approach in foreign policy, resolutely refused to support anti-Russian sanctions. Most states in the Middle East are also taking a low profile on the crisis in Ukraine.

Moscow launched a special operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out the demilitarization and denazification of Kyiv, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for bloody acts against civilians in Donbass.
