Polyansky suggested what Kyiv’s “tactics” are when calculating the losses of the Russian Armed Forces

UN, May 12 – RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian side, declaring thousands of dead among the Russian military, takes the figure of the Ministry of Defense about the losses of Kyiv and adds 2-3 thousand to it, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said in an interview with the online publication UnHerd.
“We have a Ukrainian representative (Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN Serhiy Kyslitsa), and I think that the tactics of calculating supposedly Russian losses is very simple. They just take the statistics of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Ukrainian losses, which, as far as we think, are more or less accurate. And then they add 2-3 thousand people to it,” Polyansky said.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, and on March 25 they completed the main tasks of the first stage – they significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.

Polyansky announced a change in Russia’s position on the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the EU
